After visiting the SF Museum of Modern Art AND City Lights
bookstore AND-AND this cool comic shop in Ashland, Oregon, that sold zines and
underground books (I can’t remember the name, unfortunately), I felt the urge
to just make some ARTZ. You can see in this zine the obvious influence of some of
the abstract art that Mariah and I saw at the various galleries and museums
that we visited, but the idea of just communicating my MOMENT---the feelings and
thoughts that were running through my head as I was sitting by the pool and
watching the human display flopping around in front of me---was also important.
(I like to sit with my back to a wall, so people don’t get behind me. It’s a neurotic
thing…)
